Community Programs
We’re not just your electricity provider. We’re your neighbor, too.
NEC Co-op Energy is deeply connected to our community, proudly providing support to members, local charities, organizations and events. And as a member, you can take part in simple, meaningful ways.
Government-in-Action Youth Leadership Tour

NEC Scholarship Program
Every year, NEC offers scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are dependents of members and meet the eligibility requirements. Funding for this scholarship program comes from unclaimed NEC capital credits.

2020 Christmas Card Contest
Help celebrate the holidays with NEC and participate in the 2020 Christmas Card Contest! All entries must be hand-drawn and follow the contest theme of combining electricity or lineworkers with a Christmas or holiday component.
Deadline is Wednesday, July 8, 2020.
Farmers’ Market
We proudly support the weekly Downtown Farmers’ Market. Everything at the market is grown, raised, or made within 200 miles of Corpus Christi, Texas. It’s open every Wednesday evening at The Art Center of Corpus Christi, 100 North Shoreline, from 5:00-8:00pm.
Member-to-Member Assistance
When you donate $1 per electricity bill to our Member-to-Member Assistance Fund, we’ll put 100% of the donations to help other members in need pay their electricity bill. Approximately 620 members participate in the program, allowing us to provide over $10,500 to fellow members in need.
Operation Round-Up
Operation Round-Up allows members to opt-in to round up their electricity bill to the next dollar. The extra change goes to a fund to support Nueces Electric Charities, Inc. to target improvements in education, health, hunger, abuse and homelessness. Through this program, we’ve granted awards of over $100,000 every year to our Texas communities.
