Complete Education Kits & Safety Presentations
Providing our local schools with effective educational resources on electricity demonstrates our commitment to the communities in which we live and work. Kits are free and all we ask in return is that you take a picture of your students with their certificates or a picture of your students in the act of learning about electricity that we may use to highlight your classroom efforts in publications like this one.
Schools and teachers have access to the program, which provides a variety of educational tools – including videos, CD-ROMs, a Teachers Resource Guide, student activity books and other collateral materials – all at no charge – to augment the existing curriculum.
In support of its ongoing commitment to community service, Texas Electric Cooperative, NEC Co-op Energy offers the programs to give students a real-world understanding of power, the purpose of electricity, and the important role electric cooperatives play in delivering the “juice” that runs their everyday lives.
In addition to the school education kits, Nueces Electric Cooperative also provides free, and very popular, electrical safety demonstration where an NEC employee will personally come to your classroom to discuss electricity and will educate your students on the hazards of playing near power lines.
Both school education kits were developed specifically for classroom use and comply with National Science Education Standards. The Get Charged! program represents a first-time partnership for Discovery with a non-educational entity to provide content directly to schools.
NEC is excited to help you get your students energized about electricity. Call 361-767-7321 or e-mail email@example.com get your FREE kit or school presentation today!
